Ganderbal, Mar 28 (KNO): Dry and hollow chinar trees are posing a threat to the Government Girls Middle School Saloora in Ganderbal. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the mighty Chinars located along the main road instil fear not only among students studying there but also in pedestrians and commuters. The area's Chinars are fragile and pose a threat to anyone passing by. Local resident Niyaz Ahmad Bhat mentioned that they have alerted the Naib Tehsildar about the issue and are expecting an action now. He said that if these dried Chinars are not removed there could be untoward incidents in the area. Highlighting a past incident, a major tragedy was avoided when a dry Chinar fell on the school premises during the night in December 2022. But the incident occurred when there were no students present, said a local resident Hilal Ahmad—(KNO)
